Ceramics

We teach ceramics from beginners through to advanced students.

Anyone can be taught to be creative and produce quality projects.

Learn to make and create that unique and personalised gift for an upcoming birthday, Christmas, or that exclusive irreplaceable wedding or christening gift. Or just pamper yourself with projects for your home.

You can paint beautiful platters, jugs, vases, cups or ornaments, the list is endless. It is not hard and can look totally professional. Put your own flair and personality into your projects that your family and friends will love.

We will guide you every step of the way.

We have a very large range of greenware all year round. There are always lots to choose from.

For class times please see the class list and join us in one or more of these sessions.

Our ceramic classes are flexible. If you miss a class you don't get charged for it. You just pay as you go.

Ceramic fees:

Class fee: $16.00 includes the use of ceramic tools and brushes.

Minimum charge of $3.00 for use of our acrylic and underglazes used in each class. Glazes are charged as per usage.

We can fire any ceramics you clean and paint at home, no matter how small or large. No responsibility taken for ceramics not bought at the studio.

Oils

Have you always wanted to try oils but you didn't want to work with the irritating and harsh smelling mediums and turps?

Maybe you just didn't know where to start.

Well we have the answer!

We now stock and can order in a great range of Winsor & Newton water soluble oils. These paints have all the flexibility of oil paints, but can easily wash up using soap and water, no more turps!

If you haven't used oils before you will be amazed at how well they blend and move. Why not give it a try?

Beginner classes are available and lots of quality canvasses are available in different sizes.

Come and join in on the fun.

Rouging

I was inspired and taught by Mary Owens when I attended the S.D.P painting convention in Wichita in 1999.

Mary Owens is a New Yorker and has developed a wonderful technique of pen and wash in oils. This gives you a softer more watercolour look than acrylics.

It is an interesting technique that you will enjoy and it will inspire you to rouge all kinds of projects. Instead of washing with acrylics, we rouge in oils.

This is a fun and easy method and looks fantastic.

Rouging classes are on at any time – just enquire – or have a look at upcoming workshops.

Patterns are available for $16- each with excellent instructions by Mary Owens. There are also patterns available by Jessica Alden.

For sale in the studio are DVD’s by Mary Owens. These teach you everything about Rouging, there are 2 available “Last Days of Autumn” and “The Milkhouse” $45- each.

All the supplies for Rouging are available at the studio including the Rouging brushes. Kits are also on sale for $135.

Our latest Rouging Catalogue can be downloaded with all the patterns.
